With over 850 members, we’re dedicated to promoting the fine arts and cultural life in Zurich. All of our efforts and financial support reflect ongoing commitment to Kunsthaus Zürich and the expansion of its internationally renowned collection.
Our diverse network reaches far beyond the city limits of Zurich, connecting relevant stakeholders in the art world and strengthening our city's reputation as an international art metropolis.

Responsibility and Tradition
Kunstfreunde Zürich was founded 100 years ago with the purpose of promoting art in the city on the Limmat. Since its founding, the association has done so by acquiring works and making them available to Kunsthaus Zürich. These permanent loans help supplement and expand the museum’s diverse collection. Thanks to the great and lasting commitment of our members, we have been able to acquire notable pieces in recent years and close gaps in the renowned collection with works from Bartolomeo Montagna, Claude Monet, Constantin Brâncuși, Piet Mondrian, Henri Matisse, Jeff Wall, Sigmar Polke, Katharina Fritsch, Franz Gertsch, Mai Thu Perret, and more.
